In 2012 we started off the year by making a new years resolution to challenge ourselves and do something special for our community. This resolution resulted in the development of 300 Blankets. The decision and direction of the volunteer initiative was to drive ourselves to do something new and something for the greater good of our community. The intention and execution was set as personal challenges and it was not until the final result did we realise the impact the initiative has on the community.
The 300 Blankets team have been out on many soup van runs where we have been able to hand out the blankets raised through our fundraising activities. It is these special moments when we see first hand, the impact the gift of warmth has on our community that we realise what we have been able to achieve. The challenge to keep our community warm is no longer personal.
In 2013, 300 Blankets is striving to have an even greater impact in our community. We are in the process of planning exciting events to involve more people and organisations from our community, to get involved to keep our community warm. If you or your company would like to be involved through volunteering, donation of goods or services, please do not hesitate to contact me (e-mail: contact@300blankets.com.au) and the 300 Blankets team.
Together we can keep our community warm.
